His ship, the Halve Maen (the Half Moon), left the harbour of Amsterdam a couple of months earlier to find a short-cut to South-East Asia.

On Friday September 4th, the New Amsterdam Village was opened in central New York. Until September 14th, this is the place where tradition and innovation in agrarian production and trade play key roles. The Dutch village consists of a windmill and twelve traditional canal side houses with shops that offer typical Dutch products. From production of wooden shoes and glassblowing, to ‘poffertjes’ (tiny pancakes), flowers, bulbs, and of course cheese! Obviously, Old Amsterdam (see New Old Amsterdam, posted January 6th, 1996) was present.

On September 4th, the Dutch ambassador in the United States, Renee Jones-Bos, and Commissoner Adrian Benepe cut the first Old Amsterdam / New Amsterdam cheese and therewith opened the New Amsterdam Village.

San Mauro super premium olive oils launched

  • Posted On Nov 11, 2008

A new brand of high-quality olive oil has been introduced on the Dutch market. On the 7th of November 2008, Prorieta Di Doorten launched the brands San Mauro and Colline di San Mauro. These olive oils are based on an old roman recipe; a cold pressing within 24 hours after harvest, produced from the olive trees of the well-know Sabina region north of Rome.

Inspired by the origin and authenticity of these new product developments, Claessens|Cartils created the corporate name, names of the brands, logos and brand presentation, as well as secondary packaging. The brand name originates from the small street at which the domain is located, whereas the icon depicts a castle on the Sabina hills.

The presentation emphasizes the absolute class, contemporary nature and high-quality of the products and underlines the authentic brand character of San Mauro.

Dutch aged cheese in a new brand presentation

Old amsterdamWestland Cheese Specialties (the largest privately held cheese producing company in the Netherlands) has asked Claessens Product Consultants to take a critical look at her brand portfolio. After adaptation of the big brands Maaslander and Westlite, it was time to reinforce the Old Amsterdam brand. Claessens Product Consultants from Amsterdam increased the authority and authenticity of the brand presentation and therewith complicated the annoying copying behaviour of third parties. From now on, both the consumer and Westland will be rewarded for their right choice.
